The Evolution of Dr. Duckor’s Numismatic Gold Coins Collection

Some of the most sought after numismatic gold coins in the world share one thing in common –they have either been in the collection of Dr. Duckor or they are currently in it. Dr. Steven Duckor has been a prominent numismatic gold coins collector for decades and is one of the most renowned experts of the 20th century in both gold coins and Barber coins. Strangely, enough this gold collector started his collection in 1991 with Barber halves.

Dr. Duckor is a veteran of many major coin auctions and has been responsible for proofing thousands of gold coins. Dr. Duckor attributes most of his knowledge to his close proximity to David Akers, regarded by almost everyone to be America’s foremost expert in US gold coins.

Characteristics of a Good Numismatic Gold Coins Collector

The success of Dr. Duckor as a coin collector can be replicated by other collectors also. The key is to keeping the whole process simple. As a numismatist, Dr. Duckor specializes only in Barber coins (both dimes and halves) and in 20th century numismatic gold coins (Indian Head and Saint-Gaudens). He never ventures out of his comfort area and, through this, he has built himself a great set and obtained knowledge far exceeding other dealers. This clearly defined approach has worked wonders for him in the long run.

Dr. Duckor was always very patient with the coins he obtained and waited for their value to appreciate. He held some of his Indian Head Eagles for over two decades before reeling some major profits with the maturity of the market.
